Laboratories
The close relations between the research laboratories, the teaching departments and the companies allow students to benefit from a dynamic training which anticipates the evolution of concepts and the techniques of mechanics and energetics.
The two laboratories attached to ISAE-ENSMA are the P’ Institute and the LIAS.
The school currently has 76 teacher-researchers from ISAE-ENSMA and the University of Poitiers, 16 CNRS researchers and just over 40 technical staff (ISAE-ENSMA and CNRS). While adding the PhD students and the technical staff, we reach nearly 260 people.
Created on 1 January 2010, the P’ Institute is a CNRS research unit under agreement with ISAE-ENSMA and the University of Poitiers. Mainly linked to the Engineering Sciences sectors – in particular for the activities developed at the school – it is positioned as a centre of excellence in research at European level for transport, energy and the environment, based on our areas of expertise in mechanics (solid and fluid), materials and energy. It has 591 staff members, of whom approximately 40% are housed at ISAE-ENSMA.
The Institute is organised into 3 departments:
– Department PMM: PHYSICS AND MECHANICS OF MATERIALS
– Department FTC: FLUIDS, COMBUSTION, THERMALS
– Department GMSC: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING and COMPLEX SYSTEMS
The school is particularly involved in Department PMM (damage and durability of metallic materials and composites) and Department FTC (aerodynamics, turbulence, control, optimisation of flows and exchanges, convection and coupled transfers, thermal systems, turbulent and heterogeneous combustion, propulsion, detonation).
Laboratory of Computer Science and Automatic Control for Systems
The LIAS comprises 40 teacher-researchers from the University of Poitiers and ISAE-ENSMA, 5 technical staff and around 40 PhD students. It is located on two sites : Poitiers (ENSIP-University of Poitiers) and Futuroscope (ISAE-ENSMA).
This unit relies on complementary skills in the fields of computer science and automatic control with applications in the fields of ICST, engineering, transport, energy and the environment. It is organised around three themes :
– Data and Model Engineering
– Real-time embedded systems
– Automation and Systems
ISAE-ENSMA is particularly involved in the first two areas (database integration and optimisation, modelling of complex systems, scheduling, design and dimensioning of real-time systems) with specific applications in the fields of transport, energy and the environment.
